Club Triumph 10CR

The bi-annual Club Triumph 10 Countries Run finished today. The 50ish Triumphs included my basically standard TR7. In the course of just five days we drove through UK, France, Spain, Andorra, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium & the Netherlands,covered about 2,500 miles, drove through passes in the Alps & Pyranese over 6000 ft, & cruised at 130km/hr on the autoroutes.

The DHC sailed through it without any problems at all & we had a ball:)

Well done Howard, glad the car held out, and you did not put diesel in! and Beans made it round in an Acclaim.May have a go one year.

It even broke down twice and developed an oil leak from the gearbox, so it must be a Triumph [:D]

Could someone please enlighten me:
What's the point in a sprint around 4000 kilometers of EUrope?
(>38 km/h average around the clock speed for the duration of the drive)
I just don't get it, I thought the idea behind a foreign drive was to enjoy the scenery,
the food, the wine/spirits/beers etc. of the country/countries one visit...
Puzzled...

That's what delicatessans & cafes are for. 38kph seems a bit slow to me. [:)]

Odd,

The scenery was fantastic, the people were great and we stopped in interesting little villages for food, coffee & socialising. I know its not to everyones taste (including my wife who thinks we are all mad!) but there are some fantastic memories and good new friendships from the rally.

It's actually pretty easy to avarge over 50 Km/h, so more then enough time to enjoy te scenery, the food and some rest [:)]
