How lucky is that

Postby nofinchance » 18 Apr 2009 12:13

During the week my dad has been contacting all his long lost relatives. He has retired and has learnt the joys of the internet and family tree research[:o)].Anyway it turns out one of my cousins (thrice removed or something) runs a Triumph Dolimite Sprint. He told my dad about this little secret place that only works on Triumphs[;)].Well I dropped my car in today to get the oil pressure and water leak sorted once and for all + a spanking new MOT.The place is like Triumph heaven a small old farm with a barn workshop,Triumphs of every mk dotted around ,some are part of the hedge rows some are work in progress. The owner came out of the haze of wood smoke and paint dust holding a cuppa full of tea, rust and paint. He liked the car and recons not much is wrong or it would have blown up by now[:0].The fuel tank is also going to be replaced as it keeps sucking rust into the carbs and making the car run bad[xx(].And best of all the guy is only 5 miles away from me.[:D] The end is in sight[8D]

He is in a small strip of land called egdon. It's like only 2 miles of a road then it's into another town name.I am told he has a web site but I couldn't find it however he is listed on the Triumph sports six club page.If you search for Triumph spares repairs egdon(or the next village spechley) you should find him via google. He is about 10 minutes from junc 6 of the M5 at worcester.Don't all rush at once though or he will never finish my car! [:D]

John,
Your package should be on it's way to you.Thank's again for the loan.
As for my new found TR 7th heaven I will have to wait and see the price and quaility of the work to be 100% about this guy.At least I didn't get one of the two usual garage responses.
1. "Well dear that's a classic car" (price just went up 100%)
2. "Oh no love sorry,if I start to work on that old thing it will be like the forth bridge" (never finished)
The guy is a fellow 7 lover so can't be all bad.
As for dream jobs I always fancied working one of those big scrapyard crushers.Sick when you think I love old cars it just looks such fun[:o)].
As for BMWs you must have the worlds easiest job they never go wrong[;)].

Hi Steph,
No rush for that tool, if i have not got it, i cant use it [:p], as for BMW we are seldom short of work, says it all! [;)] to add injury to insult they still own the 'Triumph' name [:(!] as well
If i ever win the lottery going to buy ALL 8 series BMW's(E31), the applause from everyone who ever worked on one will be deaffing!!!, and crush everyone single one of them [:0] so if you still want that 'dream' job it will be yours!!
Cheers John
