I thought I'd post an update. After 5 months, I finally found time to finish rebuilding carburetors. It is far from "roadworthy" at this point as it runs rough and needs some tuning, needs to have the steering checked out, leaks coolant, and is somewhat hesitant to shift (automatic).

But last night, I threw caution to the wind and backed it out of the garage for the first time and drove it around the block! [:D] Made it all the way around (0.7 miles) without incident. It was so much fun just to have it move.

Good for you. Is the coolant leak from the engine or the radiator? The rough running may be a worn distributor or a failed lifter but it would be a good idea to replace the plugs & leads especially if you don't know how old they are.
