THANKYOU!!!! i have not been able to find any 1/4 mile times for a standard TR7! i've found a few very optimistic times but nothing concrete. My quickest was 17.69 secs with an abrubt loss of power occuring just above 4900rpm where it felt like i'd turned the ignition off.

I now know that i was only using 3/4 throttle during all those runs. Thanks Jeffremj for pointing that one out![:I]

Rob.

Ron has a booklet that has several articles on the TR7 pulled from magazine articles of the day. In one they compared it to MGB and two other Italian cars (not sure if it was as tested or company specs). I can't recall the 0-60 times or 1/4 mile times (if there was one) but I did recall it out accelerated and outbraked the MGB. What else do you need to know?[:D]

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">No probs. Old linkages always have wear, so that is why I recommend the newer TR7 type.

My book on TR7s shows 18 secs for 1/4 mile for a US TR7. 17 - 18 secs for a UK car via Autocar or Motor at different times. 4 speed figures were better than 5 speed!

16.3 secs for the TR8.

A similar book to mine is for sale now - eBay number 150504218990.
