There seems to be a lot of this type kit car around (relatively speaking). I think they start with a big American car like a Monte Carlo which has a frame out front and just hang the front end fiberglas on it, insert cockpit area of your choice (have seen MGBs used for this too) then just hang on the rear fenders, bodge the rear and they are done.

Here is one with an MG Midget cockpit.

I have seen this before, using the tr7 or 8's as a base of sorts.
I would like to know ( IF the tr7 or 8's where not really built well and it's reputation is that its a problem car) ,Then? why do people do this ?
I believe , and i have not done the numbers or know of anybody who has, that production of the tr7 or 8's versus others running today / per capita is probably higher .
I believe that sooner than later the tr7 and 8's will get the recognition they deserve.
And if not ?
who carres ?
tha's not the reason why we got into them anyways.
We love our cars like our girls and kids, not because they are recognized as the fastest ,best, reliable , beautiful or cute
( Which mine are)
but because we do,
and we don't care what others think.
