i've often thought about this and would recomend the perambulator garage, a neighbour of mine had her Mg under one of these for over five years, perfect solution i reckon.

I eventually extended the garage but these cost around £500 pounds and come in either a nylon or best of all canvas in a variety of colours

That perambulator looks really good, to me John, are they well
fastened down?

I had the 8 under a 2 ply quality car cover, under a car port, for a
while. It was not too good,

Around here we ger thunder storms at 50+ knots, 90Km, that take the
roofs off many houses, in spring. Our winter is dry, so these winds
pick up lots of heavy dust, [almost light gravel], & the wind hits
before the rain. I found the car cover trapped this dirt against the
car, & heavy rain wet the lower section by splashing up under it.

It was almost like cutting paste.

It did less damage to let it get wet, & dirty, in the car port,
without the rubbing, of the cover.

If those things didn't blow away, they would be the next best thing
to a propper garage, & better than some.

Exactly Hasbeen

yeh they fasten down to the deck and easily open up just like the name suggest like a pram hood for a quick getaway.. and fold flat on the floor when not in use.

So you can the sunshine in on a good day,

we don't get quite that extreme of weather here, well not quite yet[:D]

But what i have always found in the past is with the covers that are laid over the car they either sweat or trap the moisture, and eventually with any wind damage the paintqwork weather these let the car breath naturally.

during the interim when i was pondering what new cover to get when the last one finally gave up the ghost. i agree with your comment and thought it would be better leaving it to the elements in the short term rather than placing a cover on it.

So it was either one of these perambulator systems as i was very impressed in how it had kept the next doors neighbour car in almost garage conditions. or extend my garage.
