Year End Banquet

Postby FI Spyder » 24 Nov 2008 18:01

We've had our year end banquet and dance at the Nanaimo Gold Club. Every meeting for the last four years I do what is now called the car of the month club where I give clues and those present try to guess the make and model of British car I have chosen. I give a little history of the company and a poster of the car and specs to pass around. This year I was awarded a gift for it:

I also won one of the door prizes so all in all it was a pretty good night. (I was one of two people who actually drove my British car to the banquet) as it was dry, the prize was a coffee table book of antique car dashes:

Nice[:)]
I miss hangin wit my car-club bud's. [:(] When I bought my first wedge in like 1995, I only joined so I had a reliable place to sell the car if I needed to. I really didnt know much about British cars back then. Then I went to my first meeting, and....well lets say those Triumph guys really got me interested and involved in all things British. Turned me around, literally.

I really miss the stuff I did with my clubs. Maybe next summer things will change a little.

Congrats FI S!

The 'gift' looks a bit like a Volkswagen - not exactly a British car - although it was the British Army that got the VW factory up and running after the war!

I see were you get the resemblance. According to the tag on it it's a 1937 Whachumacallit. [:)]
