Okay, I have to weigh in. This is about a Triumph, just not my TR7.

My TR4A had just been repaired from a rear-end collision, fresh paint on the whole car, and I was getting it ready to go to the British Car Day in Cincinnati. I have a one car garage and a sloped driveway and I wanted to wash the car, so I backed the minivan up enough to back the TR out into the driveway. Well, the parking brake sucks, and it would not hold the hill, so I tried to start the car and pull it back into the garage so I could get wheel chocks. The battery went dead and the car wouldn't start. I put it in gear (reverse) and let off the brake. The combination of engine compression and the parking brake seemed to be holding. If it would just give me enough time to jump out and block the wheels... I jumped out and before I could get a block, the compression gave out. Well, as Murphy would have it, I had left the key on. It bump started and ran smack into the front bumper of the minivan. It was 5-10 minutes before I could even speak!
I went on to the Cincinnati show and got 3rd place, the only time my car has ever placed in that event. Go figure.

Not my experience but I felt I had to share. A club member working many hours to bring back a TR250 from the dead. Had eveything completed. He had the body taken to paint shop to do under side, engine bay and interior. He then meticulously assembled everything and trucked the car back to the paint shop to get the exterior painted. This was so he didn't scratch anything putting in engine, interior etc. After everything was perfect he had the car running to adjust the carbs I beleive when he bumped it into gear and the car took off and ran into the end of the garage. Back to the paint shop. I can only imagine what he went through even if he is a very easy going guy. He has since taken many first place awards at car shows in Canada and US (that he drives it to.) Here's the car and owner facing away:
