ORIGINAL TR7 SEAT BELTS can you help????

Postby tr7inc » 17 Oct 2008 18:19

Hi all just wondered why there was a difference in design of the orignal seat belt, for example my drophead has this, for example they look almost identical, except, one has a black plastic part for the real to feed through, while the other has it incorperated, both designs work well im sure, but was this jsut a cosmetic thing BL did at the time?

Many thanks

The seat belts on early cars (fixed heads) were mounted differently to the later cars.

AFAIK all DHCs had the later style belts, with a metal runner for the belt to feed through secured by the mounting bolt on the rear deck. Maybe someone has fitted a different belt to your car in the past to replace a defective one?

Here are my belts, as you can see everything is the same, apart from the black plastic feeder, was this similar to what BL did with the badge at the front of the car ie what factory they were built at Imageetc?

Any help would be great. many thanks
