After installing the waist seal on my doors I started having a power drain on my battery. I took the door crds back off and checked for shorted wires to no avail.

I have noticed that when I open my trunk, the inside lights no longer go on. Tonight I notice that even though the trunk light switch is operating properly, the light in the trunk is staying on. I beleive that the trunk light is back feeding through the door lights and draining the battery.

I think that I have switched the black wires on the door lights around with one of the purple wires, but I am not sure which one. Just getting too darn old!

So, I connected the solid purple wire to the single connector on the light and the black wire to the bottom connector where two are located on the door light. The single connector is facing the front of the car. In this configuration, does anyone know which wire goes where?

The purple wire goes to the single terminal this is the supply from the fuse.The purple and white wire goes to either of the other two this wire runs to the appropriate door switch so when the door is opened it provides an earth path for the bulb.The black wire goes dirrectly to earth.dependant on which way you have switced the light it will either work of the door switch or be permenetly on.
Have you checke for any wires that may be rubbed though in the door or where they pass though the fubber pipe it may be that they only earth out when the door is closed and the wires get squashed.Old copper wires start to loose their flexibility and tend to split or the insulation cracks causing small chort circuits.
