Fully agree on this one. I put a (much) stiffer front roll bar under my Sprint a few months ago and it certainly improved the handling quite a bit with the tyres I have under the car (very soft and grippy Yokohama A032R's).

Since then I had to put the tyres from my DHC (Dunlop SP Sport01) under the Sprint to get her MOT'ed. With the softer suspension on the DHC these tyres perform rather well. But with the Dunlop’s on, the Sprint under steered rather heavily (stiffer anti roll bar indeed!), whereas with the grippy Yoko’s she remains much more neutral under equal conditions, resulting in a much more balanced feel (with my driving style).

So I wouldn’t recommend it if you want to use the car for anything else then thrashing it on small and twisty country lanes ...

B.tw. again some interresting stories there Hasbeen, thx for that [;)]
