Is there an headlight conversion kit

Postby yung man » 30 Jul 2008 14:22

Is there a conversion kit available to get rid of the pop up headlights on TR7/8s they did it with the Mazda MX5, I remember seeing a TR7 many years ago with twin headlights, admittedly it looked awful but surely these days with more light from a smaller bulb(xenon type) something could be fabricated to fit behind a clear lense in the same hole, if its not been done does anyone know anybody that might be able to do it as a one off?

Nothing wrong with the lights - part of the 'charm'. You can fix them UP if you wish - as on the Rally cars, and of course you can fit Halogen bulbs with 'extra' 50% brightness if you find the lights a bit dim!

When I was a kid there were three types of cars.

Sports cars with pop up lights.

Sports cars without pop up lights.

Other cars.

A bit Steve Berry'ish I know. Even now 4 pipes out the back still do it for me, unless it's on an M3. I've been cut up by them too many times to keep the respect.

Cheers,
