Forgive the ascii art - the following confirms the dimensions for a wedge spit, something I said I would do some time ago.

| Nb 1. The vertical dimension of 935 mm provides minimum clearance for rotation
|       of the FHC shell. The DHC may require less height but this has not been
|       verified.
| Nb 2. Using the recommended base width of 1500 mm eliminates instability when

What size is the square tubing?

How did you get it up on the spit?

Is it a one person operation to spin it on the spit?

I have been modeling(reverse engineering) up a rotissorie (or spit as you call it)off and on for the past month or so on my CAD software. Designed mainly for the TR7/8 but will be adjustable for other cars and includes two 3 ton long stroke cylinders to lift the car body.

Darn, I started calling it an spit instead of rotissorie.

Like the color of the car.

Guys,

The reason it was made robust and quality casters were fitted is so it can be moved readily and easily.

Ideally, getting a shell on and off the spit requires access to a scissor lift hoist:

Alternatively, one can use jacks and pallets, but it is much more time consuming.

To answer some questions (which I have done before):
End box sections are 75 mm sqr. (50 mm sqr would have been adequate)
Bumper bar mounts are 100 x 50 mm
Pivot pipe pins welded to bumper bar mounts are 90 mm OD
Pivot pipes welded to end sections are approx 95mm ID (the closest pipe to slip over the 90 mm pins)
Longitudinal brace was the closest box dimension to slip inside the 75 sqr box

Hope all can work it out from here. The important part is make your rig adaptable in both length and height.

Yoke, yes it is a one person operation to spin it over to any angle, but requires a strong person. Two peoplr make it easier.
