A mint condition "all summer long" Coca cola LP [:D] for 99p

Sader than that Tony my Akai collection of seperates are 30yrs old infact the CD player cost me £300 when it was new,one of the first,

i was young and impatient then obviously

Splendid, John. I have loads of LPs from the 60, 70s, & 80s, & I still really like to play them. I think that, leaving aside the high end expensive stuff, much of the best reall hifi kit came out of the 70s & 80s. Like yours, my kit is getting on a bit now, but still works perfectly. Still sounds great today.

£300 for a CD player 30 years ago? That was serious money. My first CD player was a JVC that I won in a competition! About the only thing I have ever won, but not bad.[:)]

Now were talking Tony i won one of the first Cassette players with five cassettes it wouldn't record only play[:D] in a crunchie competition

I remember still the first CD player I saw was $1,400.00. CD's very limited were $30.00 said to be due to the high number of rejects in the manufacturing process. The year would be around 1982-83.
