Thanks for the info Carl,it's a shame the panel beaters have gone out of business, do you still have the dimensions etc just wondering how much it would cost here in the UK to get them made.

TR7V8 "Mad Max" style!

The 2 front scoops look good together. I don't think either of them would look as good on their own.

I thought most of us shortened the gearstick, not made it longer. Can the LT77 gearbox be modified to sequential changes?

Cheers,

Adam

"Hi Clay
Many thanks for your email re the scoops. It was well over ten years since I
had them made. At that time Pecky's Panel where probably one of the bests
panel beaters in Darwin so I had no hesitation in giving him the work. He
was from the old school and made everything hand beaten from metal as
opposed to fibreglass and bog which included the rear spoiler (more on that
later.) At the time of making them I used to work full time repairing
fibreglass boats so it would have been simple for me to manufacture them
myself from that material.
Unfortunately all the original sketches and dimensions where left with pecky
which disappeared when he did, some six or seven years ago. He was very
proud of his workmanship and used a picture of my car for a number of years
in his business advert in the "Yellow Pages". He also did the paint job
which considering it was done ten or eleven years ago is still bright and
shiny.
Until recently the open roads in the Northern Territory did not have any
speed restrictions. Now we are limited to 130 K an hour which has done
bugger all to reduce the road toll. At around 120 -140 an hour I found that
the car tended to float quite dramatically (quite sphincter tightening)Pecky
came up with the spoiler idea which I found came into its own at speeds in
excess of 120 K's. it generated considerable down force which in turn
sacrificed a bit of the top end speed which at that time was over 240 KPH.
It is also adjustable so that you can alter the required amount.
For anyone that doesn't like it. It would be a simple matter to remove it
and fill in the holes and respray it.
I retired last August having worked for three years past retirement age and
currently own two MX5's and a project TR7 ragtop, which are nowhere near as
hairy chested (or fun) however we all have to slow down at some time also
now that these Cretins in Government have restricted the road speed in the
guise of lowering the road Toll which in fact has gone up.
I have had lots of enquiries in regards to the sale of the car but
unfortunately I live in Darwin which is thousands of kilometres from any of
the Major Cities. The cost of shipping it South or even driving it at
today's petrol prices not even worth contemplating.
I am an expatriate Brit and was over there for a holiday when I retired last
year at that time the cost of petrol there freaked me out so God knows how
you poor buggers are managing to survive at today's prices.
Thank you for your interest.

Regards.

Carl"
