I just pulled apart one of the webers I got off ebay and this is what I have....

Do any of you guys have any thoughts is this thing useable? Or am I out of luck? I apologize for the out of focus picks for some reason it wouldn't focus correctly.

Not sure if that's just carbon build up or not. If it's just carbon then just get some carb cleaner and soak it until the cows come home and give it a good scrubbing. Mine looked like crap and my mechanic did pretty good job of getting it cleaned out. I'll snap some pics when I get it back from him.

In the first and third pics that is pitting of the carb When I pulled it apart there was so much dust and corrosion it was unreal.

Wow, wonder how it got pitted like that? The PO ran without an air filter maybe?

Honestly, Yoke, I wouldn't waste a rebuild kit on it. Downdraft Webers are cheap and plentiful enough that it wouldn't make much sense to fool with a badly pitted casting like that.

I see you already have the jets and one emulsion tube out - hopefully at least that stuff was OK?

That's what I figured, it just sucks. It's frustrating you think your getting somewhere and then bingo here's a surprise. I think everything else looks good, aaarrrggghhhh what can you do.
