Good to hear you solved the problem. Always a lesson not to forget....just because it's fresh out of the package doesn't mean it's working, be it clutch hose, night light bulb (my last two experiences) or spark plug wires.

Mildred - Always a good plan. I label both ends of the ignition wires and mark the cap on all of my cars - I've chased that issue enough times!

Zeke - I can apply enough force to the bolt - I just have a hard time keeping the engine from turning over while doing it. I put the car in first or reverse, pull the hand brake and block the wheels but I still have a hard time getting over 100 ft-lbs on the bolt without the engine rolling over.

I had the same problem.
I had one of my kids step on the brakes and the car in 1st with the hand break on .That worked.

I have had luck with a fast Jerk and it clicked.without my midget on the brake ( I mean my 7year old no offence to midgets or small people)
now a days people are just way to sensative.
