major step in right direction

Postby birminghamtr7 » 29 Dec 2007 09:30

great news engine and box positioned and ready to be bolted in i had a bit of a delay as the subframe i had stored for a few years that looked new had all sorts of bulges in it as though it was rotting from inside causing metal to swell, any way took executive decision to swap the subframe of the low mileage car i have, subframe is mint. but while i had it in to remove i quickly decided that the money and time required to get it done would not be worth while although the floors and sills are mint the inner arches back and front rotted and front wings nose etc all would need renewing. So with that out came motor box and subframe subframe now on my rebuilt motor ready to go in as you can see in picture, the low mileage engine and box sold to very pleased tr7 owners, and old subframe fitted back on my now spares car. its heart wrenching to think ive taken a 7 out of service,

Great to hear things are moving on, keep up the excellent work.
Unfortunately, it is a fact of life that, sometimes one car has to give way to allow another to return to service. Better that than to have both off the road. I too had to sacrifice one that was in dire trouble, to keep two others on the road. Yes it is upsetting, but it does make yours one step further along the line and give an excellent source of parts so not totally wasted.

Good luck
