Triumph Marque Day 18th May - Prescott Hill Climb

Postby John Clancy » 25 Apr 2008 09:10

I should be attending this event for the first time since it was started. If anyone else is going perhaps we should gather forum and TRDC cars together.

Any takers?

I am hoping to be there on the Sunday, John. Jeff Poole may be going as well, if he does then we may drive up the M5 together.

Plans will be firmed up nearer the time but great idea to try & meet up. Are you going for the weekend or just a day trip?

Camping Wayne??? Now I didn't realize that was a possibility... might get the tent out and spend a couple of days then. I'm hoping to do a couple of interviews in Coventry around the same time so this could all fall into place nicely.

MYE is now Mot'd but not insured or taxed for the road.. been using WAC quite a bit now. I have joined our local Motor Club and my son Sam and I have done a couple of night-time Navigational Exercises... (hopelessly lost!)the last one in the TR. They were not too amused really but it has been suggested we fit a sumpguard and enter their Autograss event, basically a Sprint but on grass. Again will be looking to see if this is possible time-wise.

Well sadly I doubt that I will be able to go now, but trv8 to get there from the south go up the M5 & leave at junction 9 (Tewkesbury), go right off the roundabout towards Ashchurch & Teddington, follow road going past a large Army depot. Then you come to Teddington Hands roundabout, turn right towards Bishops Cleeve & Cheltenham A435, then watch for signs to Prescott which will be left off the A435 before Bishops Cleeve. Prescott is between two small villages called Gotherington & Gretton. If you get to Bishops Cleeve you have gone too far.

There are bound to be lots of cars to follow, assuming they know where they are going that is! Prescott is owned by the Bugatti Owners Club & is very organised so once you are in the area you can follow the signs.

My in laws used to farm all around that area, you will drive past their fields on the way! Have a good day.[:)]

There is a group from Somerset Triumphs going up on Sunday, they are meeting at Halfords car park, Taunton, at 7.00 am I think, stopping for brekkies somewhere on the way.

Well believe it or not... But KBA has made it down to Prescott! A few issues along the way, but she managed to make it all the way from Durham yesterday!
