For what it's worth I've just checked and my total round-trip driven mileage was 554 miles. Due to towing the car and the weather this was mostly at 40-50mph.

Over 200 miles on the way back was without wipers in everything from drizzle to thunderstorms. Total cost of the diesel left no change from £200 plus £20 of Premium Unleaded put in the TR for the road run, plus I had to pay an extra person to replace me for 3 days at work (joys of having your own business!)

So despite the effort and cost, was it worth it? I'd say absolutely yes, but only once a year... I'm giving Malvern a miss and also Rally Day at Castle Combe probably too.

I was talking to John Clancy just before I left Billing for the return trip.. we were saying how ironic it is that the further away you live the foward planning required to make the trip tended to make you ignore the weather and just go, I certainly was determined to make it regardless of the problems (and there were many!)A lot of people who live a lot closer to Billing probably looked out the window and then not bothered.

Still the turn-out was pretty good and the vibe was great. I'm kicking myself now for not talking to more people and spend more time looking at their cars (rain didn't help) but it was great to meet the people I did and put some faces to some of the people on this forum.

I forgot to mention, I think we should also thank the management at Billing Aquadrome for giving us such a good deal, £13 for two of us to camp for the weekend is very cheap, the other 2 shows we usually attend charge near to £50.

I am looking at putting a sprint article about the Rimmer Green Sprint, but don't have any pics of this car at billing.

Can anyone help.

Paul/Mark,

Thanks for the pictures.

Mark, by chance would you be interested in writing something about your 80 DHC Sprint with some pics if possible. I would then put into the TR Drivers mag if you wish.
