TR8 and TR7 Sprint Day 2 July 2017 Gaydon

Postby XSeries » 22 Nov 2016 21:15

Following a meeting of a quorum's worth of TRDC members, it was agreed that the annual TRDC club meeting would be held at Gaydon, British Motor Museum over the weekend of 30 June, 1 and 2 July 2017.

It was confirmed that the main display on the Sunday would be of factory built TR7 Sprints and TR8s. The factory Sprints are a rare model with few being made and those now scattered across the globe. The majority of the factory TR8s were exported to North America - but there are around 100 in the UK, some of which never left these shores. However, this event is not UK exclusive (nor TRDC members only), so if you have a factory TR8 or original Sprint and would like to attend, please contact me.

A formal invite will be sent - but only if your details are known as the crystal ball was shattered some years ago!

We are also hoping to have a sprint and TR8 at most of the events throughout next year to celebrate the models.

Latest update on the TR8 and Sprint Day. There is now a special section on the http://www.tr8archive.co.uk website to enable owners of genuine TR8's and Sprints to book a place in the display. There are a few final details to be ironed out but we look set for a great weekend.

With invitation still to be sent out to a large number of owners, there are almost 30 cars attending already!
Prize for the furthest travelled to the meeting is likely to go to the USA, but furthest travelled with car is Spain at present. :)

Hi Brian,

I registered my interest on the site, but not received an invite yet.

Should I have had it by now?

i dont think my tr8 WPU281W ex BSM HPC, will be done in time, enine been rebuilt for over a year now. but actual car was stuck in limbo at bodyshop for well over a year, so much so i worried they had gone bump... then in november i eventually made contact they had carried out quite a bit of work to be fair, however i recovered it straight over to envirostrip. its due back next week, i may need some more minimal work or it may need a hell of a lot !!! that said any prep will still need to be done then painting. and fit out it a big ask i will try but cant see it happening. :(

Have followed the video and can book the weekend (only £9 for both days, is that right?) but how is the camping booked? Hope to book this w/e when I have fixed a few things.
Is there any discount for entry to the museum for TRDC?
Thanks

Hi Alan,
Re TR8 & Sprint Day.
The £9 entry fee covers you for entry into the museum on both Saturday and Sunday - no extra charge. Camping is £25 for the weekend and is payable to Simon Bryan of the TRDC when you arrive at Gaydon.

Hi Guys,
Invitations to nearly 100 factory built TR8 owners in the UK were sent out earlier this month. To date we have 33 confirmed cars covering all specifications and types. If anyone has a factory built '8 that we have not contacted, we would like to hear from you. Our website http://www.tr8archive.co.uk gives all the details of what is happening on the day and how to contact us.
We look forward to seeing you.
Rex & Brian
