TRDC National Weekend 1-3 July 2016

1st-2nd-3rd July.....

"2016 is going to be the year of the Rally Car.

So if you have a rally car or replica this is your year to shine at the national.

2016 will see the return of the Harris Arms, which will feature the TR Bar with a selection of beverages to quench your thirst over the weekend. Including the very popular buy a TR Drivers mug and then get free tea or coffee all weekend.

As it is the year of the Rally Car, with the help of John Clancy we have managed to arrange for a special guest speaker, Brian Culcheth.

Brian was a British Leyland Works Driver from 1969 to 1977, during which time he secured many successes in a wide variety of British Leyland vehicles such as Triumph Dolomites, TR7, and even Marina`s.

After the quiz Brian will speak about his time as a rally driver with particular focus on the TR7. This is an excellent opportunity to hear about and see our cars in their rallying prime.

The Harris Arms will be suitably themed to celebrate the rallying performances of the TR7 cars, which were crewed by Brian Culcheth/Johnstone Syer and Tony Pond/Dave Richard.

After their success at the Bright Light City run last year Garry Yorke has arranged for a professional Scalextric circuit to be at Billing for the weekend, which will bring out the competitive streak in a few, and once you have got the lap record on the Scalextric and won every race your next contest will be the Spark Plug Challenge, which is a race again the clock to see who is the spark plug master, by removing 4 spark plugs from the cylinder head and place them in the bin using a combination of a plug spanner/ ratchet and if needs be teeth. Both of these will be running all weekend and there will be a prize for the winner of both events.

There will of course be the road run, concourse and more to be announced.

This year with the help of Garry and John we will hopefully deliver the best national yet.

Oh and of course there will be TR Zyder, Birt’s Whistle-wetter, Leffe and this year the return of a standard lager on draught.

See you at the National, get the date in your diary 1st – 3rd July.”

OK guys you'll have to use your imagination for now but I will get sample pics. up as soon as possible.....
To celebrate 40years of TR7-8 Rallying, we are offering you all a chance own some very special club regalia which will be very limited and sold on pre-orders to be picked up from the National weekend.
Once the national is over we may be able to a couple of small runs but it all depends on numbers.

We will have a very special Base ball cap in red white and blue livery with the BL rally helmet logo and the signatures of Brian Culcheth and Johnstone Syer.
A awesome T Shirt in white also bearing the BL helmet logo and signatures,
And a white T shirt with the BL special tuning logo with Brian Culcheth and Johnstone Syer's signatures.
Along with three very special rally themed mugs available at the National....

A few shots for teasers....
