Hi,

About to leave for Malvern, looks like the V8 gets another run out 8) . Hope to see a few of Ladies and Gents over the weekend.

Rob, if you read this got photo copies of your press car road test from 3rd March 1980 Daily Express, sure we will bump into each other at some point.

Anyone going have a safe drive.

Cheers John

Hi,

Took a drive over on Friday morning, stunning views a couple of mile from the show ground -

Image

What a excellent weekend 8) spent it with the Ladies and Gents From North London TR Group, not a hint of TR7 hate, in fact they had two other 7V8s present.

Image

Lots of really interesting cars both TR7/8's and other TR's. Really interesting supercharging TR's Technical Seminar,Robsport was in the house always good to have a chat, entertainment including a hypnotist, so funny :D and disco till 1am plus spending the weekend with friends old and new plus like minded people. Plus...... FREE wine and beer in the Avon Hall Friday night :P

Great auto solo with Mr Flacks car literally spinning wheels between the cones

Image

Image

Plus slightly older 7 being used in anger.....coooll

Image

Wayne doing a Q and A on TR7's in rallying for over an hour, simply brilliant, well done Wayne -

Image

Watching cars on the rolling road including Benjamins TR7 4.6 V8 -

Really good result too :)

Supercharged TR7 with a Sprint engine ....... EFI, Megajolt and Supercharged

Image

Image

Car of the show for me was Simons simply stunning ' real ' RHD TR8, judges agreed to as won best in class :)

Image

And non TR7/8 was the three Italias there including the competition car just built by Jigsaw -

Image

And this stunning TR4 ! based kit car from the 60's -

Image

My favourite early car was this, treated with linseed oil and in my eyes stunning, why would you restore car's like this !! Guess you either get it or you dont !

Image

Image

Got approx 270 other pictures including every TR7 and 8 there over three days, can post some of them if anyone intrested ?? unfortunately fairly low in numbers, when compared with other in the marque but still a good turn out, just shame other couldn't make it, roll on Lincoln next year 8) Hope see a few more of ' our ' cars next year .

Cheers John

Was always going to do a wedge type kit car in the 70's (back then they were mostly all for the ubiquitous Beetle pan and running gear). When I assembled all the stuff I moved to the coast and it was all sold. Really like the one on the TR3. Looks well done.

As ever good to meet up with John and every body at the weekend - my car will be subject to a good talking to at the weekend for refusing to come out and play again! (seized new front brake calliper)

As ever there were so many terrific cars and great friends to meet and chat with. I was able to put John in touch with the "Ford" engineer that put John's four speed gearbox kit together and I hope that was useful.

Thanks for posting photos John as ever they are much appreciated.

Cheers

Hi John glad you enjoyed your week end, and thanks for the brilliant photos, we were there on Sunday had good look around for you but to no avail ha ha.
it was good to see quite a few from here at the show and I was very impressed with Andrews (Maxwell) new car, very nice indeed.
It was certainly great weather wise and I am glad to say my V8 performed very well there and back
It was good to see quite a few wedges in the concours hall. very impressed with what we saw.
Cheers

Hi,

Yeah sorry Moe, did look out for you after spotting your car, I saw Ian and Babs on Sunday, they had been there since Saturday morning ! Another one my 270 pictures, you may like Moe 8)

Fascinating chat Ian, a very clever man. Be very interesting in seeing those prototype wheel pictures, if you ever get a copy.

For those never been this video gives you an idea of the number of cars, bear in mind at least as many other car's tend to stay on the camp site  sorry not many 7's

Thanks for the photos John, we were there on the Sunday, ours was the cavalry blue DHC between Moes and Andrews.
First TR event we've been to in probably 20 years! Couldn't get over how expensive it was to get in, speaking with the local Register group leader who I've known for years he said that they just about break even.
Anyway, the sun shone and we had a good old natter with a few folks so not a bad day and only about 7 miles from home.
