incredible pics , I really like some of those engine shots !!

Very nice variety of cars , I love seeing those obscure vehicles like the Lada that you would have never thought would be seeing in a show, and talking about afterwards !!!

the pic of your FHC would be great for a calendar !!

Great stuff as usual, thanks John. That X1/9 looks interesting if not pretty. It was seeing an X1/9 cruising down the highway years ago that got me back into sports cars.

What is that lovely black 2 seater convertible, with the vestige of a running board, JVM148.

Isn't it a pity we don't have companies like Jensen any more. I don't think I've ever seen one I didn't like.

Hi Gents,

As ever thank you for the comments and my pleasure in posting them,

Ron, the Lada is actually a Fiat, same body shell, this one is original paint and came in from Malta last year hence the lack of rust !! The Lada plant used these Fiat shells in exchange for steel, but the Russian steel was of very poor quality and had rust built into it almost hence the way they all ' dissolved ' in the rain ! Always great to have a chat with the owners of such cars and learn a little hopefully.

Like you love looking at ordinary classics, high end stuff will always be there as it has money value but everyday cars disappear.

First time for me Hasbeen with the Jenson also but a stunning looking car complete with a 383 Mopar lump up front.

I also liked the Simica French sign written car, very clean and rare over here, great lines, something they couldn't design anymore, bl88dy computers wouldn't allow it [V].The black two seater manufacture escapes me but it will come back and will let you know.

The X19 is a recreation of a car used in a race series I believe and is used in anger too.

Thanks again,

Cheers John

I think the black two seater (one of them as there are at least two different) is a Singer SM1500 Roadster. I like the cars that were never imported over here. The American models I grew up with and just remind me how old I am.[V]

We had a Singer in a automobile shop here for years but had no engine transmission. It had been used in years past to run out on the narrow road to a lighthouse as most other (N/A) cars were too big. It disappeared but heard by the rumour mill it had a Pinto engine/trans put in.[:(]

Very nice photos John. What a great variety of cars. The Vette is strange though. The '63 was the only one with the split rear window but it also had big rectangular vents on the hood/bonnet and this one doesn't. Possibly the bonnet off of a '64 - '67? The vents on the front wings also look like a '63. Maybe I've been hanging out with the American car guys too much?[;)]

Thanks for posting. The white car with the Lotus engine (is that a Lotus Cortina?), is that the stock air cleaner (which looks like a muffler)?

Hi Gents,

Thanks for the comments [:I]

The guy with the Vette has 4 in total and I thought I had it bad, the red ( C3 ??? ) is also his.

I think the other black two seater is possibly a Lea Francis ????

The air cleaner on the Mk2 Lotus Cortina is factory fitted and agree does look like a rear box !!

Cheers John

I always like the split window Vette even if you couldn't see as good out the rear. That it was only one year doesn't hurt either. Duntov (an engineer) hated it and over rode the styling department so it was removed in following years.

As ever great pictures John, shame I couldn't make the show.

The red TR7V8 is the same one that was "spotted" in Ongar a few months ago, Did you hear it start up?

Catch up in the summer.

Cheers
