Props And Pistons Yesterday (VERY Pic Heavy )

Postby john 215 » 29 Sep 2014 05:04

Hi,

Went along to this event up at Sywell Aerodrome near Northampton, an excellent motorsport, classic car show with the added bonus of planes. Its very much in the vain of Goodwood but without the huge costs and corporate bullcr4p [V].

Lots of people in 40's and 50's clothes looking amazing. There was a drag strip on a road leading to runway, approx 1/8 mile. This road also allowed was used also and allowed for a diverse range of racing cars and bikes to get onto the main runway, they ran to end turned round and returned, where some of the ex works bikes were topping 200 mph !!

There was several air displays, including WW1 planes and a Spitfire from battle of Britain flight, an awesome day and one I will be attending next year for sure.

I spent the day in bed with a Night Nurse, felt rough as a badgers .....

Wanted to go as driving home on Thursday I looked in my rear view mirror and there was a vulcan bomber flying behind me as I neared Sywell.

Not something that you see everyday.

Heard from friends that the event was excellent if a little pricey to get in as a punter.
