What a busy day it was today, I was being dragged all over the place to talk to everyone. I must appologise if I never finished some conversations with anyone but what a great day culminating with a very prestigious award, really looking forward to tomorrow.

The membership poster behind John Ashford says it all I think, "Magnificent 7". Final day today and what a show. It has been great seeing everyone and many thanks to all who have come along and helped out it really has been a club team effort.

It was good to have a chat with Woodie from the Wedge shop and his son who were over for the show as well. I think its great that they can have a business in the USA based on our 40 year old cars.

Yes, went yesterday to the show, I thought the stand looked ace and my kids had great fun finding my car on the tr7 flank. I loved the cars, they were a credit to their owners and the club.
I would have loved to hang around and listen to the interviews along with the multitudes, but I am afraid the three ankle biters were less interested in listening to the learned gents and more interested in spending my hard earned on toys. (three cokes, two coffees and a couple of muffins from the 2cv café killed us for £14, you can feed a family of four for a week in Lincolnshire for that!)
I do now know what it feels like to be a dog in a lamp post factory, my wish list grew with every stand but the best ones were the ones that weren't too full, like the TRDC, where you felt welcomed in and then part of it all.
Good to meet John wood, good luck with the film guys, can't wait, and then had a long chat with a chap from Wales before realising we were practically namesakes, Kelvin meet Calvin etc..
Rob, struggled to find eastern stand, now I know why, hohum. Next time maybe.
What did everyone think of the TR7 bit next door? I thought the car was superb, lovely example.

It has been a fabulous show for the TR Drivers Club and for that reason the TR7 and TR8. With the amount of journalists who come to see us increasing every time we are at the Classic Motor Show I can say with confidence that it is the members of the TR Drivers Club who are responsible for the new found reputation of Triumphs wedge shaped sports cars.

Now, onto business and I want to use this forum and this post to ask nicely for anyone who has forgotten to renew their membership in the last couple of months to please ensure they do so now. I say this because if you're late this time around you risk not receiving the best edition of the TR Driver ever compiled. We have almost sold out of this issue before it's even gone to print so don't delay. Renew here:
http://www.trdrivers.com/membership.html

This mag is a wonderful review and souvenir of the best year in the history of our favourite cars and not to be missed. Anyone who is not a club member can pre-order it on the club web site but again, don't delay.

Thanks to everyone who helped on the stand especially Paul Lewis, John Wood, John Clancy, Jim Johnson and Andrew Pointer who put it all together. Not forgetting Trevor Godwyn for bringing along our ex Per Eklund works rally car. It was great to see so many members on the stand.

Hi,

Had a great day yesterday, stand looked amazing [8D] Got there as it opened at 9am and walked through my front door at gone 9pm but worth it. Great to catch up with John, Chris, Andrew, Jim etc. Picked up my Group 44 print that has to me my new favourite [8D].

Loved Alistair Flacks new rally car simply <b>awesome</b> Watched the Silverstone Auction, cars fetching good money, including a Talbot Lotus Sunbeam going for........ £45,000 and it didn't even have the steering wheel on the correct side of the car [;)] Chatted to some rally interesting ladies and gents and no doubt made some new friends.

Took loads of pictures will try and get some up later

Cheers John

Hi Stevie,

Shame that mate, guess we were feet apart at the auction, unless you paid a tenner to get access to the auction.

Everyone who saw the ' Wedge Wall ' stuck on Pauls car will soon be able to own there own copy of the it [8D]

Hi John we also had a brilliant day yesterday at the show and we certainly missed a hell of a lot so thanks Stevie for the photos.

We did have a good look for familiar faces but did not see any but with the amount of people around it was understandable.

Thought the stand looked great and congratulations to all involved in winning the best event of the year prize.
Looking forward to next years show!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Moe
