Anybody planning on going to the ATDI in Tacoma? I signed up today for the ATDI as well as the Portland ABFM.

Ken, I think the ATDI might be the only Triumph event I will be able to make it to this year, unless I can convince Dana to do the trip down to Triumphest in Santa Maria CA at the end of September. After our tow-truck interlude on the way to last year's event in CA it will take some convincing!

The ATDI is close enough to home that I will probably do it as day trips, rather than staying in Tacoma. But they always put on a good show.

I'd still love to go. I'm just not sure that I will be able to. I'm not going to drive even that far without new tires. I should be able to get some before then, so it is possible. Finding tires in a matched set for the two sizes I run has been interesting. It looks like I'll probably end up with the Kumho Ecsta AST but it looks like the rears (225 50 15) are a special order. Still, out the door price for under $550 with replacement certs and everything isn't too bad. Less than the other 3 vehicles I've had to put tires on in the last year.

Edit: Have I mentioned lately how much I love my wife? I have been saving up for tires and was set back a bit by the manifold work. Today she told me to just go and get them. I am just a bit chuffed. No more taking it easy on corners or worrying about the old hard tires. I'm still not sure about the ATDI though, more to follow.

Where's your sense of adventure Jim? I drove from Sacramento to Vancouver Island on bald tires with no problem (other than having to keep it at 50 mph).[8D]

The host club will be throwing a major party because this is the club's 50th year. Also, in honor of the TR7's 40th, the event has separate classes for 7s and 8s (for the first time in decades). So far the total cars registered is at record numbers and there are more TR8s than usual. BUT only "one" TR7 has registered so far. C'mon guys - we need to fix this!

I would love to but I'm also going to Portland the following weekend.
Can't do both (not retired yet).

Ron, they are actually two weekends apart. [:p] I'm still trying to figure out how I can make it next weekend. I may just blast up there Saturday morning and come back Saturday night. I'll probably stay at the Best Western right next to the LeMay Museum if I go up Friday night. I'm switching to a new job on Thursday after leaving the old one on Wednesday. I'm not really sure how my schedule is going to work out this week. Fingers crossed.

TURP or TUPR as they say here. Everything went well. Other than blood in urine for four days, a non event. Back in the car in a week. Went to an all day event yesterday. Three week post op Doctor's appointment this afternoon. I expect the biopsy results, a standard check (only 1 in 16 chance of cancer as none was indicated and probably far less than that as there is no history of cancer in either side of the families.)

For those of you who cringe at the thought there was really nothing to it, but then I was lucky enough to live in an area where there is one of the best specialists in the province so I've been told by people who had him before.

First time I've been in a hospital since I was 5 when I had my tonsils out. Should be good till I'm 98 now. [:p]

Glad it went well Spyder.

Sounds unpleasant actually. I can think of things I'd rather be doing.

Registered for the ATDI yesterday, now I have to clean the car up for the show. The last time it was in Tacoma it was getting loaded onto a tow truck with a hole it the clutch fork. Won't be doing that again!

As of today, we have a total of 150 Triumphs registered for the Tacoma ATDI this weekend.

It's gonna be a party!
