Hi Ron,

From what I read, the test hill was built just for that purpose back in the 1900's It was to find other uses than just a race track, manufactures could test and compare performance up a hill of known gradient. It starts at 1 in 8 then 1 in 5 with the top third 1 in 4 and is just over 350 foot long. Some cars tried it in a 1st gear dash, others had a 2nd gearchange with small engine cars just making it over sometimes !! The bikes went up on one wheel, bl88dy show offs !!! Everyone backed off near the top to avoid getting airborne [}:)]

Cheers John

The white pre-production ACN coupe is Keith Cox's car. He has had that car about 20 years I believe, it is completely standard.

Great set of pics John!

Hi John,

I did think about it but came out the house without my license etc. and although not a 100% sure the powers that be normally need to see that at least. The white Stag with the Rover V8 on throttle bodies was quick up the hill as was the gold TR7 V8, its all about torque at the end of the day [^]

Cheers John

I had a long chat to the guy with white pre-production TR8. Really interesting car.

If you are the owner of the lovely triton green FHC I followed you and DHC V8 along the M25. Too good to pass I'm afraid.

Great museum as well. The VC10s were awesome

Hi Andy

Located in Colchester Essex. Trying to get along to a few events this year. Sadly missing the National due but will be along to the 40th event and Harrogate.

Good to see a FHC in such terrific condition. Hopefully will see it again at either of the above.

Hi James,
I'll be on the 40th anniversary run, but not at Harrogate. See you there.

Andy
