Some of you might recall that Jay tried to organise an event for the 30th anniversary in 2005. It took the form of a round Britain tour and lots of people initially expressed an interest in taking part but in the end there were only a few of us. My wife and I would have completed the whole trip but for a mechanical failure part way through but there was no one else up for the entire trip in the end. There used to be an article about the run on the TR7.com site but it seems to have gone now and there was a write in in the Club Triumph mag, Club Torque, of September 2005 (volume 40 no 225). This tour visited all the production sites of the TR7 but took a week over it. Could well be up for this if the dates fell right.

I remember that attempt. We have all give this one a go. Momentum is gathering so I think the January meeting could well be on. All who have offered to help will be notified in January.

September? A long way off, but I really think the Editor TR-Driver should put in an appearance. If I can help - ask!

John,

there is a chance that I can get my white FHC (when I pick it up from Roy) I can get TR Drivers graphics put on the car for the event, It might be worthwhile looking at a bit of sponsorship from rimmers, rob sport etc to see if we can get any money for a plaque or something.

Great Idea. Has the TR Drivers club or the TR Register got any spare pennies?

John, posted your run idea on our TRDC North Wales FB page and to date we already have ten cars signed up for the event if it comes off. If you need any help with the route from Liverpool or anything else let me know. Howard

That response is fantastic. Thank you Howard I will accept any help going. I am getting excited about this prospect and waiting for a response to see if we can do something special that will be a really nice fill in on the route I'm planning.

Never bothered with Facebook but if this thing is to get off the ground I have decided to get one (in my name). Sent a few friend requests out to get it started tonight.

Send a request as I'll use this as well as the forum for updates if all goes well.

John,

This venue might fit the bill below

http://www.standardtriumphclub.co.uk/

The standard triumph club is located on the old factory.

The first meeting about this potential run will be at Oxford services on the M40 on Sunday 2nd February. The meeting will start around 11.30 so if people who wish to attend can be there from 11 onwards that would be fantastic.

I have sent many emails out but if other TR7/8 owners wish to attend please, please come along. I really want members from Club Triumph and the TR Register to come along for their input.

Please contact me via this forum/Facebook and I will send my contact details etc.

Thanks for your support
John

Just in case we can make it on Sunday can we confirm there is just one M40 services so we don't end up stopping on the northerly services when everyone else is on the southerly side. I'm presuming the M40 Oxford services are just off the motorway and both sides come to a single place.
