Florida?

[Last TR]

We're thinking about a trip to Florida in February. Does anybody know of any vintage auto events, Triumph or otherwise, we should try to fit into our schedule?

The last time I went to Florida I was lucky enough to attend the Saturday night gathering in Kissimee old town. Over 500 cars including a genuine factory Corvette Grand Sport, on its way to race at the Daytona Speed weeks. Also the original white Ford Mustang modelled by Brooklin in the UK. Not sure if it is weekly or monthly but by far the best car show I have ever attended, also got the chance help with a water pump change on a 66 Thunderbird.

[Last TR]

Yeah, we've had two record-setting winters in a row here in Anchorage. Last winter was the longest ever from first snowfall until last snowfall; the previous winter was the greatest total snowfall ever recorded. No appreciable snow at all yet this fall; we still have green grass in the yard.

I wish we could take the entire month of February, but we'll probably only be gone for a week. And unfortunately, we won't be taking the TR8 this time. Maybe the following year.

The 24 Hours of Daytona is the last weekend of January. That I might like to see. The Daytona 500 on February 14 doesn't interest me as much.

I have always wanted to go to 2 events, The Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500. NASCAR is my favourite form of racing so I would like to see any of the Superspedways. Indycar is not as good as in the 90s but THE 500 must be a great spectacle.
