I see the Sprint is owned by Brian Kitley - he has a Triumph tuning/servicing/repairs business down in Somerset, not that far from me. I believe he was part of the BL works rally team at Abingdon including the works TR8s.
Never used his services but apparently a very knowledgeable guy about Triumphs generally & Dolly's especially.

Nice photos John. I saw a man in a hoodie all day, must have been you. [:)]
Was a bit cold to say the least. Yeah, wheelspin, understeer, you name it. But was still a great day, nice venue and a very good turn out considering the weather. And i had a lot of positive comments about my car. Which was nice.
Cheers
Chunk
P.S. I went home at 3 o' clock, my feet were frozen. [:)]

Hi,
Great to see you again Phil, wheel spin was a understatement [:p] but thinking about it you had the most powerful car on the day on the hill.Next time see you on something flat, and without those things called bends !!
Mr Clancy was filming Brian's Sprint and having a chat with him. He worked on the works TR7 rally cars doing all the welding and reinforcement work, hopefully John will use the footage on a future DVD.
Tony, will be making the journey up ' T North ' but poss not till first thing Sunday or Saturday afternoon as working in the morning, ,looking forward to it
The supercharged engine is in a Stag and looked a very good install, unfortunatley a static display and didnt run up the hill

A comparatively low turn out this time which likely means we won't be at Prescott again.
Brian Kitley was a welder at Abingdon on the TR7 V8 rally cars. He did all the strengthening of the shell and the re-location of the strut turrets etc.
The supercharged Stag did go up the hill. I only shot it leaving the start line but at least I got it.
Great to see so many wedges attend - possibly more than any other model.

Fantastic pics John, but I think you've done me a disservice.
I can now feel a need for that purple Stag, with that supercharger fitted to it. This could get expensive.

Yes excellent day, lots of wedges. Didn't take mine up the hill as i had no documents [:(] but did have a ride in the rally stag which was good. Typically the only car i saw stop on the hill was a TR7 sprint when the throttle cable fell off, he soon got it going and carried on up the hill. I was at the top of the hill when the TVR went off, didn't see it but did here the crunch, luckily everybody was ok.
I'll have to take my documents next time [8D]

John 215,
I will probably need some new rear tyres for my next outing, which no doubt will be the Retro Show at Santa Pod. I believe the Rover V8 Challenge people are putting a dislpay on, which should be good.
There was a man at Prescott, who spoke to me and he was taking photos for Triumph World magazine and a few others. He said he had photographed my car on the hill and would send it in with some others for an event feature i believe. He said it was "pot luck" if any car was featured in the report. So fingers crossed.
Cheers
Chunk
P.S. Look at the people sat down in your first photo. Coats, hats, coffee. And today we are in tee shirts!! Crazy weather.

Retro Show same weekend as TRDC national [:(] but may leave on time and take a drive over to the Pod, heard RVDRA were planning a meeting, was a member 'back in the day' and aways tried to watch rounds when up at The Pod
Cheers John
