Triumph Spares Day, any good ?

Paul Stoneleigh is the best place to find the bits you need . Usually quite a few stalls selling new parts as well as the normal specialists. Also plenty of nice cars on show.

Was very sunny on the way there tops down last yr , But freezing and snowed like mad on way home my tr7 kept spluttering all the way back !! , but will go again this yr hopefully , Zoe

Now i would have to slightly disagree here as i thought last year there was very little for the TR7 owner it mostly catered for the earlier cars..

I gottas say last year i thought the whole thing was a shambles Triumphs were not seperated but parked all over the place

but ofcourse thats just my opinion in some ways i agree we need to support these events but if Stoneliegh can't be bothered then i for one will not waste a 4hr round trip

I agree with you John, I used to look forward to this show but I thought the last show was not as good as previous shows [:(!].

If I got nothing better to do and the sun is shining [8D], I might decide to go to the next show [:D]

I actually enjoyed last year more than previous events.

Remember there are fewer and fewer Triumphs on the road so events catering just for Triumphs are going to be increasingly difficult to fund. We'll all be the poorer for it if we let events like this go to the wall... and the same applies to the magazine, it's amazing that 'Triumph World' still exists given the last cars to wear the Triumph badge were built 25 years ago.

A i said John i agree these events need supporting but the organisers have to make an effort i felt they only have this event becuase they always have. but they made little effort in their organisation of it...

I thought last years event suffered slightly due to the organisers refusing to pay more for the big hall as all the other events do, it didn't help that all the cars were in the cow sheds which were bl**dy freezing[:0]
The morale was high though, as the usual 'Dunkirk spirit' shone through in the face of adversity.[:)]

Theres not many other all Triumph shows, I always make a list of parts needed and usually find them all. The reason the smaller hall was used is cost, its never been a big profit making show and the main hall costs a lot more.

I expect the organizers of the Triumph Stoneleigh show are suffering the same way other shows are. My own film collectors convention is being screwed by a new manager at the halls we've hired for the past 15 years. She has put the cost up by three times which means the show is now uneconomical and will be defunct after the next one in March. Given that costs of everything like this are increasing astronomically we're lucky it has survived in any form. If the organizers were to keep hiring the main hall at Stoneleigh I expect it would be running at a loss and therefore we'd never have another one. Thankfully they were able to downsize into the cattle sheds to survive.

Lets hope the organisers can arrange with Stoneleigh and their security guys, for all Triumphs to park together in that building near the cow sheds which is under cover.

Walking around and seeing all the cars there is the best part of the show for me[8D].

Now, that can't be so hard to do......can it[?]

I agree its much better with the undercover Triiumph parking, means there is an extra show outside.

I think Stoneleigh in general must be struggling financially after losing the Royal Show.

my first trip to stoneleigh was last year and meeting a lot of you guys there was the high point but agree with most of the comments, hard to find a single marquee show for triumphs yes, badly organised car parking yes, few tr7 parts yes but the guys that were there supplying were spot on..... and zoe had a hat on worth the trip to see alone, and the parts help i had from you guys too, tony, rosey andy..... worth the trip if even just to meet fellow enthusiasts...

i hope to be able to make it anyway....
